(Published by Inland Forest Management, Inc.)Delay FarmsThe spotlight has been shining on Delay Farms lately. As many of you know, the Delay family (Ray, Fairy, Ray Jr. and Gene) own forestland near Careywood, Idaho. Earlier this year Delay Farms was selected one of just three Tree Farms in the 11 western states to be a Regional Finalist for the Outstanding Tree Farmer Award. Though a strong candidate, unfortunately they were not chosen as the regional winner. Darn! In addition to an on-site visit from the national inspection committee, the Delays have had many other guests this year. They continue to host (since 1982) the Idaho Forestry Contest and welcomed the Forest Stewardship Field Day, which included participants from Montana, Idaho and Washington. In all, more than 700 people have gazed at the Delay forest this year! Return to Newsletter Article Index
